You Need To Modify Your Lifestyle 

Follow a Pitta-pacifying diet, avoiding spicy, acidic, and fried foods. Opt for cooling foods like cucumber, coconut, and mint. “Eat smaller, more frequent meals rather than large, heavy meals. Allow at least 2-3 hours between your last meal and bedtime. Stay well-hydrated with room temperature or lukewarm water. Avoid consuming excessive cold or iced beverages,” said Dr Ganesh Chaudhary, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), PHC, Darbhanga, Bihar.

Herbal Remedies

Aloe Vera

 Aloe vera juice is known for its cooling properties and may help soothe the digestive tract. Consume a small amount before meals.

Licorice (Mulethi)

“Licorice has mucus-forming properties that can help protect the oesophagus. Use deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL) supplements or drink licorice tea,” said Dr Chaudhary. 

Digestive Aids

Ginger

 Incorporate fresh ginger into your diet or drink ginger tea. It has anti-inflammatory properties and may help with digestion. Chew fennel seeds after meals to aid digestion and reduce acidity.

Ayurvedic Formulations

Triphala Churna

Triphala, a combination of three fruits, is known for its digestive benefits. Take a small amount with warm water before bedtime.

Avipattikar Churna
